School History
Murray Farm Public Scho
ol opened with 80 enthusiastic students on its first day on 20th May 1969, with the school’s official opening on 2nd November 1973. Over the last 4 decades we have grown into an incredible school of 900 students from the local area.
The school was named after the local pioneer Andrew Murray, who was granted 280 acres of land in 1823 in Carlingford near the school’s location. The school’s badge features the "demi-savage", holding a dagger and key, featured on the coat of arms of Clan Murray (pictured below left).
Our school motto, "Always Ready" (Tout Pret) is taken from the motto on the mermaid badge (pictured below right). These two traditional badges of Clan Murray were used to develop the current Murray Farm school badge and motto (pictured above).

The first parent group of the school chose the Murray Tartan of Tullibardine as the girls school uniform and, with the exception of red socks for white, the girls uniform remains the same!
